Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Resurrection Sunday (Easter) by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ—his life, teachings, death, burial and resurrection—and our own spiritual life. In observance of this time, Boonville area churches have scheduled their annual Lenten services on the following dates. Area clergy will take turns leading these Wednesday services as follows:
All area residents are invited to attend.
Time: All services will begin at 12:05 PM, and will be followed by a free luncheon scheduled to start at 12:35 PM.
Location: First Baptist Church, 325 Post Street in Boonville.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the church on Saturday morning, April 20, at 10 AM. All children from the community are invited to participate.
The National Day of Prayer will be observed with a prayer service on Thursday, May 2 at 1 PM. The focus of this Pray-For-America event is Jesus’ call to us to Love One Another. John 13:34 "Love one another. Just as I have loved you."
Art of Marriage Small Group Series
You are invited to participate in a 6-week group study that will focus on both the challenges and the beauty of God’s design for marriage. The Art of Marriage® weaves together expert teaching, real-life stories, humorous vignettes, and more to portray both the challenges and the beauty of God's design. In the videos, over 40 ministry leaders provide biblically-centered teaching, while couples who have struggled in marriage openly and honestly share their stories of pain, loss, forgiveness, and grace. Videos will be followed by group discussion. Accompanying workbooks capture Biblical references and key insights, and provide ideas for date night discussions that each couple can use to enhance their marriage relationship, after the weekly group sessions.
